SEE ALSO...

Yersinia pestis v antigen Antibody (Va52) is a mouse monoclonal IgG1 antibody that detects Yersinia pestis v antigen protein of Yersinia pestis origin by western blotting (WB) and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). Anti-Yersinia pestis v antigen antibody (Va52) is available as a non-conjugated format. Yersinia pestis v antigen (Va52) antibody plays a crucial role in studying the bacterium′s virulence, as v antigen is involved in the translocation of Yersinia outer proteins (YOPs), which are essential for evading the host′s immune response. YOPs disrupt host cell signaling and promote bacterial survival by inhibiting phagocytosis, allowing Yersinia pestis to thrive within the host. Understanding v antigen function and interaction with YOPs is vital for developing targeted therapies and vaccines against infections caused by this pathogen. The plasmid-encoded virulence antigen is a major protective immunogen, highlighting its importance in the immune response to Yersinia pestis. Additionally, the transcriptional activator PhoP is essential for the bacterium′s survival in macrophage phagosomes, although the specific mechanisms by which PhoP enhances survival in these vacuoles remain to be fully elucidated.
