Borrelia burgdorferi Osp A Antibody (0551) is a mouse monoclonal IgG1 antibody that detects Borrelia burgdorferi Osp A protein by immunofluorescence (IF). Anti-Borrelia burgdorferi Osp A antibody (0551) is available as a non-conjugated format. The outer surface protein A (OspA) plays a crucial role in Lyme disease pathogenesis, being essential for spirochete adherence to host tissues and immune response evasion. OspA expression primarily occurs in tick vectors and remains critical for Borrelia burgdorferi survival during mammalian transmission. OspA facilitates initial host colonization, enabling bacterial infection establishment and systemic spread. Understanding OspA function remains vital for developing targeted therapies and vaccines against Lyme disease, representing a key factor in bacterial lifecycle and pathogenicity. Lyme disease, caused by Borrelia burgdorferi, is a vector-borne, multisystem inflammatory disease transmitted through Ixodes ricinus complex tick bites. Anti-Borrelia burgdorferi OspA antibody (0551) specificity makes this reagent valuable for studying Borrelia burgdorferi-host interactions and clinical Lyme disease diagnosis.

What is the recommended secondary reagent for use in Western blot?

Asked by: Trav11
We recommend using one of our exclusive Mouse IgG Binding Proteins as a secondary detection reagent, such as m-IgGκ BP-HRP: sc-516102, for Western blot. A complete list of all available binding proteins is available on our website here: https://www.scbt.com/scbt/browse/support-products-mouse-igg-binding-proteins/_/N-ecrety If you have any further questions or concerns, please feel free to contact our Technical Service department by calling 800-457-3801 option 2, emailing scbt@scbt.com, or using the Live Chat function on our website.
