Datasheets
  • mouse IgG Fc binding protein (m-IgG Fc BP) conjugated to Horseradish Peroxidase (HRP)
  • supplied at 50 µg in 0.5 ml volume
  • Highly recommended alternative to conventional anti-mouse IgG secondary antibodies for chemiluminescence Western blotting (WB [ECL]) and Immunohistochemistry (IHC)
  • Suitable for binding to the Fc region of many, but not all, mouse IgG1, IgG2a and IgG2b immunoglobulins, and to a lesser extent, to mouse IgG3; not suitable for use with mouse monoclonal IgM, IgA or IgE antibodies
  • Not cross-reactive with human, rat, rabbit or goat IgG antibodies
  • Highly specific reagent that provides strong signal with minimal background and virtually complete elimination of lot to lot variation associated with conventionally generated secondary antibodies
  • Mouse IgG binding proteins are recommended for some, but not all of our monoclonal antibodies. Product descriptions on our monoclonal antibody product pages will state if the Mouse IgG binding protein is the preferred detection reagent for that product.
  • Also see our new m-IgG Fc BP-CFL 488, CFL 555, CFL 594, CFL 647, CFL 680 and CFL 790 fluorescent dye conjugates. These represent substantial improvements compared to conventional polyclonal anti-mouse secondary antibody fluorescent dye conjugates.

Mouse IgG Fc binding protein (m-IgG Fc BP) conjugated to horseradish peroxidase (HRP) is a strongly recommended alternative to conventional goat/rabbit anti-mouse IgG secondary antibodies for Western Blotting (WB) and immunohistochemical (IHC) signal enhancement. Mouse IgG Fc binding protein is a highly specific reagent that provides strong signal with minimal background and virtually complete elimination of lot to lot variation associated with conventionally generated secondary antibodies. Mouse IgG Fc binding protein (m-IgG Fc BP) is suitable for for binding to the Fc region of most, but not all, mouse IgG1, IgG2a and IgG2b immunoglobulins, and to a lesser extent, to mouse IgG3; not suitable for use with mouse monoclonal IgM, IgA or IgE antibodies. Not cross reactive with human, rat, rabbit and goat IgG antibodies.

Why would preclearing with protein G-agarose prevent recognition of 25 kDa proteins on a WB when using this reagent? The heavy chain fragment containing the Fc region would be 50 kDa; the light chains 25 kDa (part of variable region) or is that wrong?
