    MSP-1 Antibody (PVM-1) is a mouse monoclonal IgG1 antibody that detects merozoite surface protein 1 (MSP-1) of Plasmodium vivax by western blotting (WB). MSP-1 plays a crucial role in the malaria parasite′s life cycle, particularly during blood-stage infection, as MSP-1 is a major surface component facilitating red blood cell invasion. MSP-1 (PVM-1) monoclonal antibody recognizes selective proteolytic processing and reassembly, which are essential for parasite entry into erythrocytes. MSP-1 anchors to the parasite plasma membrane via a glycosylphosphatidylinositol (GPI) anchor and features complex post-translational modifications, including O-linked and N-linked glycosylation. These modifications enhance MSP-1 stability and functionality while playing a significant role in immune evasion, as glycosylated epitopes can modulate T cell responses. Anti-MSP-1 antibody (PVM-1) targets peptide ligand T cell epitopes shown to inhibit interferon-gamma secretion and CD4+ T cell proliferation, highlighting MSP-1′s potential as a vaccine candidate antigen.
