Neisseria gonorrhoeae Antibody (4611) is a mouse monoclonal IgG2b antibody that detects Neisseria gonorrhoeae protein by immunofluorescence (IF). Anti-Neisseria gonorrhoeae antibody (4611) is available as a non-conjugated format. Neisseria gonorrhoeae is a Gram-negative bacterium responsible for the sexually transmitted infection gonorrhea, which primarily colonizes the mucous membranes of the urethra and can spread to other tissues, such as the female endocervix. The bacterium′s ability to adhere to non-ciliated epithelial cells is facilitated by its fimbriae, which play a crucial role in its pathogenesis. Additionally, Neisseria gonorrhoeae produces a highly toxic lipopolysaccharide endotoxin and IgA proteases, enhancing its virulence and ability to evade the host′s immune response. Understanding the structure of Neisseria gonorrhoeae protein is vital, as specific surface structures are essential for interaction with host cells and immune evasion. The presence of these structures not only aids in bacterial attachment but also influences infection severity and host immune response. Common symptoms of gonorrhea include purulent genital discharge and a burning sensation during urination, and notably, Neisseria gonorrhoeae has developed resistance to the penicillin family, making effective treatment increasingly challenging.
