SEA Antibody (A108) is a mouse monoclonal IgG2b kappa light chain antibody that detects the SEA protein of Staphylococcus origin by flow cytometry (FCM). Anti-SEA antibody (A108) is available in both non-conjugated and various conjugated forms, including agarose, horseradish peroxidase (HRP), phycoerythrin (PE), fluorescein isothiocyanate (FITC), and multiple Alexa Fluor® conjugates. Staphylococcus enterotoxin A (SEA) is a critical member of the Staphylococcal enterotoxin family, which plays a significant role in foodborne illnesses caused by Staphylococcus aureus. SEA (A108) monoclonal antibody helps study SEA′s ability to activate T cells, leading to the production of interleukin-2, which is essential for T cell proliferation and immune response. This activation occurs through the interaction of SEA with class II major histocompatibility complex (MHC) molecules, facilitating the presentation of the SEA-MHC complex to T cell receptors. The resulting immune response can lead to severe symptoms such as high fever, hypotension, diarrhea, and in extreme cases, shock or death, underscoring the need for effective detection and research tools like SEA (A108) antibody in understanding and combating Staphylococcus-related illnesses.
