Salmonella typhimurium Antibody (6331) is a mouse monoclonal IgG1 antibody that detects the Salmonella typhimurium protein of non-species reactive by enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). Anti-Salmonella typhimurium antibody (6331) is available as a non-conjugated format. This bacterium, a Gram-negative, facultatively anaerobic, flagellated member of the Enterobacteria family, is a significant food-borne pathogen and the leading cause of Salmonellosis, a form of gastroenteritis in humans. The symptoms of Salmonellosis, which include diarrhea, fever, and abdominal cramps, typically manifest 12 to 72 hours post-infection and can persist for up to a week. Salmonella typhimurium is primarily transmitted through the feces of infected individuals or animals. A critical aspect of Salmonella typhimurium protein is its lipopolysaccharide (LPS) component, which is formed by the covalent bonding of lipid and polysaccharide. LPS is essential for maintaining the structural integrity of the bacterial cell membrane, providing protection against various chemical assaults. Moreover, as an endotoxin, LPS elicits a robust immune response in hosts, contributing to the hallmark symptoms associated with Salmonellosis. Anti-Salmonella typhimurium antibody (6331) detection capabilities are vital for understanding the pathogen′s role in food safety and public health, making this research tool invaluable for researchers and clinicians alike.
