SEE ALSO...

Helicobacter pylori HSP Antibody (BDI586) is a mouse monoclonal IgG2a antibody that detects the Helicobacter pylori HSP protein by western blotting (WB) and immunofluorescence (IF). Anti-Helicobacter pylori HSP antibody (BDI586) is available as a non-conjugated format. The Helicobacter pylori bacterium colonizes the mucus lining of the stomach and duodenum, leading to conditions such as peptic ulcers, gastritis, and duodenitis, affecting approximately 66% of the global population, although many remain asymptomatic. This spiral-shaped Gram-negative bacterium survives in the harsh acidic environment of the stomach, where Helicobacter pylori can be found in various locations, including the mucus layer, attached to epithelial cells, or within vacuoles of epithelial cells. Helicobacter pylori HSPs, or heat shock proteins, play a crucial role in managing cellular stress and assist in the proper folding and functioning of other proteins, which is vital for survival and pathogenicity. HSPs help respond to environmental stressors, ensuring resilience in the hostile gastric environment. By producing adhesins that bind to membrane-associated lipids and carbohydrates, Helicobacter pylori enhances adhesion to epithelial cells, further contributing to persistence and potential disease development.
