    MSP-1 Antibody (PVM-2) is a mouse monoclonal IgG2b light chain antibody that detects MSP-1 protein of Plasmodium vivax origin by western blotting (WB). MSP-1, or merozoite surface protein 1, plays a crucial role in the life cycle of the malaria parasite, particularly during blood-stage infection when MSP-1 (PVM-2) monoclonal antibody serves as a major surface component of the merozoite. MSP-1 (PVM-2) antibody is essential for red blood cell invasion, as MSP-1 undergoes selective proteolytic processing and reassembly to facilitate this process. The glycosylphosphatidylinositol (GPI) anchor tethers MSP-1 to the parasite plasma membrane, ensuring proper localization and function.
