Shigatoxin Antibody (STX-3) is a mouse monoclonal IgG1 antibody that detects Shigatoxin by western blotting (WB). Anti-Shigatoxin antibody (STX-3) plays a crucial role in the study of hemolytic uremic syndrome (HUS), which is the leading cause of acute renal failure in children globally. Shigatoxin, particularly Shigatoxin 1 (Stx1), is produced by Shigella dysenteriae type 1 and enterohemorrhagic Escherichia coli, and is known for its ability to disrupt cellular functions in renal epithelial cells.
