Se51.9 Antibody (F-2) is a mouse monoclonal IgG2b kappa light chain antibody that detects Se51.9 protein of S. equi origin by western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), immunofluorescence (IF), and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). Se51.9 monoclonal antibody (F-2) is available in both non-conjugated and various conjugated forms, including agarose, horseradish peroxidase (HRP), phycoerythrin (PE), fluorescein isothiocyanate (FITC), and multiple Alexa Fluor® conjugates. Se51.9, also known as surface protein Se51.9, consists of 237 amino acids and plays a crucial role in the pathogenesis of Streptococcus equi by facilitating adherence to host tissues, which is essential for colonization and infection. Understanding Se51.9 function is vital for developing targeted therapies and vaccines against equine strangles, a disease caused by S. equi. Se51.9′s ability to interact with host cell receptors underscores its importance in the bacterial lifecycle and highlights Se51.9′s potential as a target for therapeutic intervention.
