GGPL-I Antibody (LI-77) is a mouse monoclonal IgM antibody that detects the GGPL-I protein of Mycoplasma fermentans origin by enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). Anti-GGPL-I antibody (LI-77) is available as the non-conjugated format, providing researchers with a reliable tool for studying this important protein. GGPL-I plays a crucial role in the unique choline metabolic pathway of Mycoplasma fermentans, which is responsible for generating phosphocholine-containing glycoglycerolipids, including GGPL-I and GGPL-III. These glycoglycerolipids are significant because they are involved in the organism′s membrane structure and function, influencing its interaction with host cells and immune evasion strategies. Notably, the presence of antibodies against GGPL-III is markedly higher in the sera of individuals infected with HIV-1 compared to healthy donors, suggesting a potential link between Mycoplasma fermentans and the pathogenesis of acquired immunodeficiency syndrome (AIDS). Understanding the role of GGPL-I and its associated glycoglycerolipids can provide insights into the mechanisms of Mycoplasma-related diseases and their impact on human health.
