    SEE ALSO...

    C. trachomatis Antibody (Clone 3) is a mouse monoclonal IgG3 antibody that detects Chlamydia trachomatis across various serotypes including A, B, Ba, C, D, E, F, G, H, I, J, K, L2, and L3, by immunofluorescence (IF) and immunohistochemistry with paraffin-embedded sections (IHCP). C. trachomatis (Clone 3) antibody is available in a non-conjugated form, allowing for flexible experimental design. Chlamydia trachomatis is an intracellular bacterium that plays a significant role in human health, being responsible for several major diseases, including endemic trachoma and sexually transmitted infections. The protein structure of Chlamydia trachomatis features a major outer membrane protein (MOMP) that is crucial for the bacterium′s ability to evade the host immune response. MOMP forms a protective barrier, allowing the bacterium to survive and replicate within host cells, which is essential for pathogenicity. Specific epitopes within the variable region 4 (VS4) of MOMP are recognized by monoclonal antibodies, making these antibodies valuable tools for diagnosing infections and understanding the immune response to Chlamydia trachomatis. Detection of Chlamydia trachomatis using C. trachomatis (Clone 3) monoclonal antibody is vital for both clinical diagnostics and research applications.

Can sc-73569: C. trachomatis (Clone 3) monoclonal antibody be used to stain formalin-fixed, paraffin-embedded (FFPE) tissue sections?

    Asked by: DefinitelyNotMatt
Thank you for your question. Yes, sc-73569: C. trachomatis (Clone 3) is recommended for use in IHC with paraffin-embedded sections. We recommend performing antigen retrieval with sodium citrate buffer (pH 6) and heat. The full protocol can be found here: https://www.scbt.com/scbt/resources/protocols/immunoperoxidase-staining
