LF Antibody (BAL0105) is a mouse monoclonal IgG1 antibody that detects the LF protein of Bacillus anthracis origin by enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). LF (BAL0105) antibody is available as the non-conjugated form. LF protein, or lethal factor, is a critical component of the anthrax toxin, which plays a significant role in the pathogenesis of Bacillus anthracis infections. Once internalized into host cells, lethal factor acts as a metalloprotease that disrupts cellular signaling pathways, leading to cell death and contributing to the severe symptoms associated with anthrax. This mechanism of action allows the bacterium to evade the host′s immune response, making lethal factor a target for therapeutic interventions and vaccine development. Lethal factor, along with protective antigen and edema factor, forms the basis of the anthrax toxin, which is responsible for the disease′s lethality. Understanding lethal factor′s function is crucial for developing effective treatments and preventive measures against anthrax, highlighting anti-LF antibody (BAL0105)′s importance in research and diagnostic applications.
