CS protein Antibody (PVC-1) is a mouse monoclonal IgG1 antibody that detects CS protein of Plasmodium vivax origin by western blotting (WB). Anti-CS protein antibody (PVC-1) is available as non-conjugated format. The circumsporozoite (CS) protein plays a crucial role in malaria parasite life cycles, specifically during the sporozoite stage, which infects vertebrate hosts. CS protein is located on sporozoite surfaces, facilitating migration to mosquito vector salivary glands and subsequently to mammalian host livers. CS protein mediates these critical steps in parasite life cycles, proving essential for successful malaria transmission. CS protein levels indicate development of inner membranes and associated microtubules beneath oocyst outer membranes, which are vital for sporozoite budding processes. Understanding CS protein function and location aids in studying malaria transmission while providing insights into potential vaccine development and therapeutic intervention targets against malaria.
