    Gram Negative Endotoxin Marker Antibody (8.F.121) is a mouse monoclonal IgM antibody that detects the Gram Negative Endotoxin Marker protein of Escherichia coli J5 and Gram negative organisms by enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). Anti-Gram Negative Endotoxin Marker antibody (8.F.121) is available as a non-conjugated format. The Gram Negative Endotoxin Marker protein, primarily composed of lipopolysaccharide (LPS), plays a crucial role in the structural integrity and pathogenicity of Gram-negative bacteria. LPS is a major component of the outer membrane of these bacteria, and its presence is essential for maintaining the barrier function of the cell wall, which protects the bacteria from environmental stresses and antimicrobial agents. LPS is recognized by the immune system as a potent immunogen, triggering strong inflammatory responses that can lead to septic shock in severe infections.
