SEE ALSO...

Cya A Antibody (3D1) is a mouse monoclonal IgG1 kappa light chain antibody that detects the Cya A protein of Bordetella pertussis origin by western blotting (WB) and immunoprecipitation (IP). Cya A (3D1) antibody is available in both non-conjugated and various conjugated forms, including agarose, horseradish peroxidase (HRP), phycoerythrin (PE), fluorescein isothiocyanate (FITC), and multiple Alexa Fluor® conjugates. Cya A protein, also known as adenylate cyclase toxin, plays a critical role in the pathogenesis of whooping cough by elevating intracellular cyclic adenosine monophosphate (cAMP) levels in host cells, leading to cytotoxic effects. This elevation disrupts normal cellular signaling pathways, which is crucial for the bacterium′s ability to evade the host′s immune response. The Cya A gene is part of a larger locus that encodes several proteins necessary for transport and activation, including Cya C, which is essential for converting the protoxin to its active form. Additionally, Cya A interacts with the αMβ2 integrin (CD11b/CD18), predominantly found on immune cells such as neutrophils and macrophages, thereby facilitating entry into these cells and contributing to the disruption of the innate immune response. Understanding Cya A′s function and interactions is vital for developing therapeutic strategies against Bordetella pertussis infections.

I have this antibody (old) Lot E1716. I performed a Bacterial two-hybrid assay. Can I use this to detect T18 fragment? I saw the upper message: Clear detection at 25 kDa. But nothing is about T18 fragment.

Asked by: Dr Deepak Anand
Thank you for your question. According to the following publication on PubMed (PMID: 16948859) this clone binds to the distal portion – amino acids 373–399 – of fragment T18.

Which Cya A antibody do you recommend for use in Western blot?

Asked by: cjMara
Although we offer a few different clones for Cya A, the 3D1 clone is the most popular and has been featured in over 15 recent publications.
