MRSA Antibody (NYR MRSA16) is a mouse monoclonal IgG1 antibody that detects the MRSA protein of Staphylococcus aureus origin by western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), immunofluorescence (IF), immunohistochemistry with paraffin-embedded sections (IHCP), and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). Anti-MRSA antibody (NYR MRSA16) is available as the non-conjugated format. Methicillin-resistant Staphylococcus aureus (MRSA) is a variant of the common bacterium Staphylococcus aureus, notable for its resistance to β-lactam antibiotics, including methicillin and penicillin. This resistance is primarily due to the acquisition of the mecA gene, which encodes a penicillin-binding protein that has a low affinity for β-lactam antibiotics, allowing MRSA to survive in environments where these drugs would typically be effective.
