X-linked lymphocyte-regulated 5B (Xlr5b) is a protein encoded by the "gene name" gene, which is situated on the X chromosome. These proteins are usually restricted to the testis under normal physiological conditions, contributing to spermatogenesis and the immune privilege of the testes. However, they are also known to have anomalous expression in various cancers.
