Olr1561 Activators

Chemical activators of Olr1561 include a variety of compounds that initiate intracellular signaling cascades resulting in the activation of this protein. Phorbol 12-myristate 13-acetate is a potent activator of Protein Kinase C (PKC), which in turn can phosphorylate Olr1561, resulting in its activation. Another activator, Forskolin, raises the levels of cAMP within the cell, subsequently activating Protein Kinase A (PKA), a kinase that can also phosphorylate and thereby activate Olr1561. Ionomycin functions by increasing intracellular calcium levels, which can activate calcium-dependent kinases capable of phosphorylating Olr1561.
