SCFD1 Activators

SCFD1, short for Sec1 family domain-containing 1, is a protein encoded by the SCFD1 gene in humans. As part of the Sec1/Munc18 family, SCFD1 plays a critical role in the regulation of vesicle trafficking, a fundamental cellular process that governs the transport and proper localization of proteins and lipids within cells. Vesicle trafficking is essential for a variety of cellular functions, including secretion, plasma membrane repair, cell signaling, and growth.

SCFD1 contributes to the specificity and regulation of vesicle docking and fusion by interacting with the SNARE complex, a set of proteins that mediate the fusion of vesicles with their target membranes.The precise molecular functions of SCFD1 and the mechanisms by which it regulates vesicular transport are still subjects of active research.
