5-Azacytidine is a potent growth inhibitor and a cytotoxic agent. 5-Azacytidine acts as a demethylating agent by inhibiting DNA methyltransferase (Dnmt), forming covalent adducts with cellular DNMT1 depleting enzyme activity. 5-Azacytidine also improves the efficiency of reprogramming of stem cells and induces differentiation of mesenchymal stem cells into cardiomyocytes.

Hi . I am using 5-Azacytidine in cell line . I prepared 100mM stocks in DMSO, and aliquoted them at -20C for a month . i have observed that the cells are not showing any response to the treatment. can I store the the 5-Aza in DMSO at -20C ?

Thank you for your question. This can be stored in solvent for up to 2 years at -80C. For in vivo applications, add solvents to the product individually and in order, 5% DMSO + 30% PEG 300 + ddH20. For best results, use promptly after mixing.
