EPC1 Activators

EPC1 Activators primarily function by modulating the acetylation state of histones in the cell, which can indirectly enhance the relative activity of EPC1. This is achieved either by inhibiting the deacetylation of histones, thus sustaining the acetylation state promoted by EPC1, or by selectively inhibiting other histone acetyltransferases, thereby increasing the relative activity of EPC1. EPC1 Activators include histone deacetylase inhibitors such as Trichostatin A, Sodium Butyrate, Vorinostat, and Valproic Acid, and selective histone acetyltransferase inhibitors such as Anacardic Acid, Garcinol, C646, MG149, Curcumin, Quercetin, and Epigallocatechin Gallate.

These chemicals act in a complementary manner to indirectly support EPC1 activity. For instance, Trichostatin A, Sodium Butyrate, Vorinostat, and Valproic Acid inhibit the deacetylation of histones, thus maintaining the acetylation state promoted by EPC1. On the other hand, Anacardic Acid, Garcinol, C646, MG149, Curcumin, Quercetin, and Epigallocatechin Gallate selectively inhibit other histone acetyltransferases, thus indirectly increasing the relative activity of EPC1. By inhibiting competing histone acetyltransferases, these chemicals can allow EPC1 to acetylate histones more effectively.
