EPC1 Antibody (D-6) is a mouse monoclonal IgG1 kappa light chain antibody that detects EPC1 protein of mouse, rat, and human origin by western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), immunofluorescence (IF), immunohistochemistry with paraffin-embedded sections (IHCP), and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). EPC1 (D-6) antibody is available in both non-conjugated and various conjugated forms, including agarose, horseradish peroxidase (HRP), phycoerythrin (PE), fluorescein isothiocyanate (FITC), and multiple Alexa Fluor® conjugates. Enhancer of Polycomb 1 (EPC1) is a crucial member of the Polycomb group (PcG) proteins, which are essential for regulating gene expression during development and cellular differentiation. EPC1 plays a significant role in forming transcriptional repression complexes, particularly through interaction with transcriptional repressor E2F6. In proliferating cells, EPC1 associates with proliferation-specific PcG protein EZH2, forming a complex that may regulate genes necessary for cell cycle progression. EPC1 is also involved in the NuA4 histone acetyltransferase (HAT) complex, responsible for acetylating histones H4 and H2A, thereby influencing chromatin structure and gene expression. This post-translational modification can alter nucleosome-DNA interactions, facilitating recruitment of transcriptional activators and impacting processes such as oncogene activation, tumor suppressor function, replicative senescence, apoptosis, and DNA repair. These diverse functionalities of EPC1 underscore its importance in maintaining cellular homeostasis and potential implications in cancer biology.
