DsRed Activators

Common DsRed Activators include, but are not limited to IPTG, Dioxane-Free CAS 367-93-1, Tetracycline CAS 60-54-8, Dexamethasone CAS 50-02-2, Lipopolysaccharide, E. coli O55:B5 CAS 93572-42-0 and Sodium Butyrate CAS 156-54-7.

DsRed is a red fluorescent protein originally found in the coral Discosoma sp. Since its discovery, DsRed has been extensively employed as a fluorescent marker in molecular and cell biology research due to its ability to generate a strong red fluorescence when exposed to specific wavelengths of light. The protein's structure is composed of a tightly folded chromophore within its center, responsible for its fluorescence properties. Upon illumination, the chromophore absorbs photons and re-emits them at a longer wavelength, resulting in the characteristic red fluorescence. DsRed's fluorescence properties make it particularly valuable in various applications, such as tracking cellular processes, visualizing protein localization, and serving as a reporter for gene expression.

DsRed Activators are a group of chemical compounds developed to enhance or modulate the fluorescent properties of the DsRed protein. These activators increase the intensity, stability, or duration of the emitted fluorescence, or even alter the excitation and emission spectra of the protein. By optimizing the fluorescence of DsRed, researchers can achieve clearer and more detailed visualizations in their experiments. Moreover, fine-tuning the fluorescence properties could allow for more specialized applications, such as multi-color imaging in conjunction with other fluorescent proteins or enhanced live-cell imaging under specific conditions. Understanding and manipulating DsRed activators provides an avenue to expand the utility of this remarkable fluorescent protein in the constantly evolving field of cellular and molecular biology research.
