CHCHD10 Inhibitors

Chemical inhibitors of CHCHD10 can interfere with its function by targeting the mitochondrial processes that are integral to its activity. Oligomycin A, an inhibitor of mitochondrial ATP synthase, can reduce ATP production, a key process that CHCHD10 is involved in for maintaining mitochondrial integrity. Similarly, Rotenone and Antimycin A disrupt the electron transport chain at complexes I and III, respectively, leading to impaired mitochondrial function, which is central to the role of CHCHD10. Carboxin and TTFA, both inhibitors of complex II, as well as Malonate, a competitive inhibitor of succinate dehydrogenase, can decrease mitochondrial respiratory activity. Auranofin inhibits thioredoxin reductase, which can increase oxidative stress within mitochondria, affecting CHCHD10's role in mitigating such stress to maintain mitochondrial health. 2-Thenoyltrifluoroacetone's iron-chelating properties can inhibit the function of iron-dependent mitochondrial enzymes, potentially leading to reduced CHCHD10 function. Zinc pyrithione disrupts mitochondrial membrane potential and induces oxidative stress, impacting CHCHD10's role in mitochondrial integrity. Mitoquinone mesylate modulates mitochondrial oxidative stress, which can influence the redox environment where CHCHD10 functions. Lastly, FCCP uncouples oxidative phosphorylation, diminishing mitochondrial membrane potential, which is a process essential to CHCHD10's ability to maintain mitochondrial function and health.
