Datasheets
  • Smad7 Antibody (Z8-B) is a mouse monoclonal IgG2a κ, cited in 30 publications, provided at 100 µg/ml
  • raised against recombinant Smad7 of human origin
  • recommended for detection of Smad7 of mouse, rat and human origin by WB, IP, IF, IHC(P) and ELISA
  • See Smad7 (B-8): sc-365846 for Smad7 antibody conjugates, including AC, HRP, FITC, PE, Alexa Fluor® 488, 594, 647, 680 and 790.
  • m-IgG Fc BP-HRP, m-IgG2a BP-HRP and m-IgGκ BP-HRP are the preferred secondary detection reagents for Smad7 Antibody (Z8-B) for WB and IHC(P) applications. These reagents are now offered in bundles with Smad7 Antibody (Z8-B) (see ordering information below).

SEE ALSO...

Smad7 Antibody (Z8-B) is a mouse monoclonal IgG2a kappa light chain antibody that detects Smad7 in mouse, rat, and human samples through applications such as western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), immunofluorescence (IF), immunohistochemistry with paraffin-embedded sections (IHCP), and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). Anti-Smad7 antibody (Z8-B) is available in a non-conjugated form, allowing for versatile experimental use. Smad7 plays a crucial role in the regulation of TGFβ (transforming growth factor beta) signaling pathways, acting as a negative regulator that inhibits the phosphorylation of receptor-regulated Smads, thereby preventing their activation and subsequent transcriptional activity. This function is vital for maintaining cellular homeostasis and preventing excessive signaling that can lead to pathological conditions such as fibrosis and cancer. The ability of Smad7 to modulate TGFβ signaling highlights its importance in various biological processes, including development, immune response, and tissue repair. Smad7 monoclonal antibody (Z8-B) enables researchers to gain insights into the intricate mechanisms of TGFβ signaling and its implications in health and disease.

I would like to know what the second blot line mean in the picture of WB(Smad7 抗体 (Z8-B): sc-101152). My result have two blot lines, I can't find the answer in the introduction. thank you a lot.

Thank you for your question. We have not characterized both bands which were observed in HeLa whole cell lysate when Western blotting with this antibody. The predicted molecular weight of Smad7 is 46 kDa, and other isoforms of similar size have been reported according to Uniprot. https://www.uniprot.org/uniprot/O15105#sequences

I would like to use Smad7 Antibody (Z8-B): sc-101152 for double staining with another mouse monoclonal primary antibody. Is this possible?

Asked by: Trav11
Thank you for your question. In cases like this, we recommend using our directly conjugated mouse monoclonal primary antibodies. Currently, sc-101152 is not available directly conjugated, but we have an alternative Smad7 antibody (sc-365846) that is available conjugated to HRP, FITC, PE, Alexa Fluor® 488 and Alexa Fluor® 647. If you have any further questions or concerns, please contact our Technical Service department by calling 800-457-3801 option 2, emailing scbt@scbt.com, or using the Live Chat function on our website.

I am using the LiCor/Odyssey system. Which secondary antibody do you recommend using with Smad7 Antibody (Z8-B): sc-101152?

Asked by: Trav11
We recommend using one of our our exclusive Mouse IgG Binding Proteins (m-IgGκ) conjugated to CFL 680 or CFL 790. They are suitable for use with Near-Infrared (NIR) detection systems, such as LI-COR/Odyssey and other comparable systems. A complete list of available binding proteins is available on our website here: https://www.scbt.com/scbt/browse/support-products-mouse-igg-binding-proteins/_/N-ecrety
