SEE ALSO...

Smad5 Antibody (YY-6) is a mouse monoclonal IgG2a kappa light chain antibody that detects Smad5 protein of mouse, rat, and human origin by western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), immunofluorescence (IF), and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). Anti-Smad5 antibody (YY-6) is available as the non-conjugated format. Smad5 plays a crucial role in the bone morphogenetic protein (BMP) signaling pathway, which is essential for various biological processes, including embryonic development, tissue homeostasis, and regulation of cell growth and differentiation. Smad5 acts as a transcription factor that transduces signals from BMPs, leading to activation of target genes involved in osteogenesis and chondrogenesis. Proper functioning of Smad5 is vital, as dysregulation of BMP signaling has been implicated in various diseases, including cancer and skeletal disorders. Additionally, Smad5 interacts with other Smad proteins, such as Smad1 and Smad4, to form complexes that facilitate transcriptional regulation of downstream target genes. This interaction underscores Smad5′s importance in maintaining balanced signaling pathways that govern cellular responses to growth factors.

I am using Smad5 (YY-6): sc-101151 for immunofluorescence, what dilution of this antibody should I use?

Asked by: AbPolly
Thank you for your question. We recommend a starting dilution of 1:50. However, optimal antibody concentration should be determined by titration. Please find our full immunofluorescence protocol here: https://www.scbt.com/scbt/resources/protocols/immunofluorescence-cell-staining
