SEE ALSO...

ERK 3 Antibody (E-3) is a mouse monoclonal IgG1 antibody that detects ERK 3 in mouse, rat, and human samples through various applications including western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), immunofluorescence (IF), immunohistochemistry, and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). ERK 3, also known as PRKM6 or p97MAPK, plays a crucial role in mitogen-activated protein kinase (MAPK) signaling pathways, which are essential for regulating cellular responses to growth factors and stress signals. Anti-ERK 3 antibody (E-3) is involved in mediating intracellular defense mechanisms, particularly during cell stress induced by proteasome inhibition, where ERK 3 upregulation occurs independently of p53, Bcl-2, and caspase-3 status. This suggests ERK 3 may contribute to cell survival and rescue processes under adverse conditions. The human ERK 3 gene is located on chromosome 15q21.2 and encodes a protein consisting of 721 amino acids, which is vital for various cellular functions. ERK 3′s ability to localize to the nucleus upon activation, despite the absence of a definitive nuclear localization sequence, underscores its importance in cellular signaling and response mechanisms. With broad species reactivity and multiple applications, ERK 3 monoclonal antibody (E-3) serves as an invaluable tool for researchers studying MAPK pathways and their implications in health and disease.

Can ERK 3 (E-3): sc-374239 monoclonal antibody be used to stain formalin-fixed, paraffin-embedded (FFPE) tissue sections?

Asked by: DefinitelyNotMatt
Thank you for your question. Yes, ERK 3 (E-3): sc-374239 has been validated for use in IHC with paraffin-embedded sections. We recommend performing antigen retrieval with sodium citrate buffer (pH 6) and heat. The full protocol can be found here: https://www.scbt.com/scbt/resources/protocols/immunoperoxidase-staining
