CLK1 Antibody (F-12) is a mouse monoclonal IgG2a kappa light chain antibody that detects CLK1 protein of mouse, rat, and human origin by western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), immunofluorescence (IF), and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). CLK1 (F-12) antibody is available in both non-conjugated and various conjugated forms, including agarose, horseradish peroxidase (HRP), phycoerythrin (PE), fluorescein isothiocyanate (FITC), and multiple Alexa Fluor® conjugates. CDC-like kinase 1 (CLK1) plays a crucial role in RNA splicing regulation by dually phosphorylating serine- and arginine-rich proteins within the spliceosomal complex, essential for precise gene expression control. This phosphorylation facilitates specific protein release from nuclear storage sites, influencing splicing processes and mRNA maturation. CLK1 expression can significantly decrease due to premature stop codons in mRNA, leading to nonsense-mediated decay, highlighting proper CLK1 function importance in cellular processes. CLK1 activity is regulated by phosphorylation on tyrosine and serine/threonine residues, while steric constraints from N-terminal domain can negatively impact function. CLK1′s ability to modulate RNA splicing underscores significance in maintaining cellular homeostasis and responding to physiological stimuli.
