caspase-8 Antibody (4i30) is a mouse monoclonal IgG1 antibody that detects caspase-8 in mouse, rat, and human samples through applications such as western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), immunofluorescence (IF), and immunohistochemistry. Caspase-8 plays a crucial role in the apoptotic signaling pathway, acting as the most upstream protease in the cascade initiated by tumor necrosis factor receptor superfamily members, such as TNFRSF1A and TNFRSF6/FAS. Upon activation, caspase-8 cleaves and activates downstream effector caspases, leading to the execution of apoptosis, a vital process for maintaining cellular homeostasis and eliminating damaged or unwanted cells. Caspase-8 is primarily located in the cytoplasm, where caspase-8 forms a complex with the adaptor molecule FADD, creating the death-inducing signaling complex (DISC) that is essential for activation.
