caspase-7 p10 Antibody (B-3) is a mouse monoclonal IgG1 kappa light chain antibody that detects the p10 subunit and precursor of caspase-7 in mouse, rat, and human samples through applications such as western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), immunofluorescence (IF), immunohistochemistry, and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). anti-caspase-7 antibody (B-3) is available in both non-conjugated and various conjugated forms, including agarose, horseradish peroxidase (HRP), phycoerythrin (PE), fluorescein isothiocyanate (FITC), and multiple Alexa Fluor® conjugates. Caspase-7, also known as CE-LAP3, MCH3, and CMH-1, is a crucial cysteine protease that plays a significant role in apoptosis and cytokine activation. Caspase-7 is primarily located in the cytoplasm and is expressed in various tissues, including lung, skeletal muscle, liver, kidney, spleen, and heart, as well as in cell lines like Jurkat cells. Rapid response to apoptotic signals in the cytoplasm facilitates the execution of programmed cell death. Caspase-7 belongs to the CED-3 subfamily of caspases and consists of 303 amino acids, sharing significant similarity with caspase-3. Upon activation, caspase-7 cleaves into active p20 and p10 subunits, forming a heterodimeric enzyme that directly cleaves various death substrates, leading to characteristic morphological changes associated with apoptosis. Human caspase-7 gene is located on chromosome 10q25.3, underscoring evolutionary conservation and essential role in cellular homeostasis.
