SEE ALSO...

Caspase-6 p10 Antibody (H-12) is a mouse monoclonal IgG2b kappa light chain antibody that detects the p10 subunit and precursor of caspase-6 in mouse, rat, and human samples through applications such as western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), immunofluorescence (IF), immunohistochemistry with paraffin-embedded sections (IHCP), and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). Anti-caspase-6 antibody (H-12) is available in both non-conjugated and various conjugated forms, including agarose, horseradish peroxidase (HRP), phycoerythrin (PE), fluorescein isothiocyanate (FITC), and multiple Alexa Fluor® conjugates. Caspase-6 is a member of the Ced-3/caspase-1 family of cysteine proteases, which are crucial for executing apoptosis, a programmed cell death process essential for maintaining cellular homeostasis and development. The p10 subunit of caspase-6 plays a significant role in cleaving specific target proteins, including nuclear lamins, which are vital for preserving nuclear envelope structural integrity and overall cellular morphology. This cleavage activity facilitates cellular component disassembly during apoptosis, allowing for orderly removal of dying cells. Caspase-6 interacts with other caspases, such as caspase-3 and caspase-7, amplifying apoptotic signaling cascade in response to cellular stress or damage. Human caspase-6 exists in two isoforms, with p10 variant potentially undergoing phosphorylation at Ser 257, which may influence activity and interactions within apoptotic pathway.

Can caspase-6 p10 (H-12): sc-377393 monoclonal antibody be used to stain formalin-fixed, paraffin-embedded (FFPE) tissue sections?

Asked by: jerojero
Thank you for your question. Yes, caspase-6 p10 (H-12): sc-377393 has been validated for use in IHC with paraffin-embedded sections. We recommend performing antigen retrieval with sodium citrate buffer (pH 6) and heat. The full protocol can be found here: https://www.scbt.com/scbt/resources/protocols/immunoperoxidase-staining

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Very good antibody for Western blottingThis product has been independently tested and validated in-house at Kinexus Bioinformatics Corporation as a very potent and highly specific antibody for Western blotting with a mixture of lysates from human cancer cell lines (A431/HepG2/MCF7). It strongly detects appropriately sized ~33 and ~10 kDa target proteins in immunoblots. However, it generates a higher than normal background.
