Quinidine, Verapamil, A23187, Thapsigargin, and Ionomycin increase intracellular Ca2+ levels, leading to the activation of CaMKII and subsequent phosphorylation and activation of ARMCX1. For example, Quinidine,a blocker of voltage-gated K+ channels, may alter membrane potential and intracellular Ca2+ levels, leading to CaMKII activation and subsequent ARMCX1 phosphorylation and activation. Verapamil, a calcium channel blocker, by blocking calcium influx, can increase intracellular Ca2+ leading to the activation of CaMKII, which can phosphorylate and activate ARMCX1. A23187, a mobile ion-carrier, transports Ca2+ across biological membranes. Increased intracellular Ca2+ level can activate CaMKII, leading to the phosphorylation and activation of ARMCX1. Ionomycin, a calcium ionophore, can increase intracellular Ca2+ level, activate CaMKII, and subsequently activate ARMCX1.
