POEM Activators

POEM Activators represent a group of chemical compounds that specifically amplify the functional activity of POEM, a protein known to modulate extracellular matrix remodeling. These activators either directly or indirectly stimulate POEM activity through unique signaling pathways that POEM is directly engaged in. For instance, Acetylcholine, an activator of the cholinergic pathway, enhances POEM function by stimulating this pathway. Similarly, Bradykinin, acting on the bradykinin B2 receptor signaling pathway, can also potentiate POEM activity. Sphingosine 1-Phosphate and LPA are activators of the Rho GTPase pathway, which can augment POEM function by promoting this pathway's activity.

Furthermore, POEM activity is intimately linked with the cAMP-dependent pathway, and the activation of this pathway bycompounds such as Forskolin, Rolipram, and IBMX can enhance the function of POEM. These compounds either directly activate or inhibit enzymes involved in cAMP metabolism, fostering an environment conducive for POEM activation. In the same vein, neurotransmitters such as Histamine, Dopamine, and Serotonin, which act on their respective receptor pathways, can also boost POEM function. Lastly, lipid compounds including Prostaglandin E2 and Leukotriene B4, known for their roles in inflammation and immune response, can activate pathways that lead to enhanced functional activity of POEM.
