MOG Inhibitors

The inhibitors of MOG are compounds that may negatively influence the pathways related to the maintenance and integrity of the myelin sheath, or those that regulate immune responses within the CNS. These compounds can affect MOG either by directly leading to the degradation of the myelin sheath, where MOG is located, or by interfering with the cells responsible for myelin maintenance, the oligodendrocytes.

The hypothesized mechanisms of action for these inhibitors include the induction of demyelination through chemical or immune-mediated pathways, interference with the differentiation and proliferation of oligodendrocyte precursor cells, and the disruption of cellular signaling that supports myelin sheath integrity.
