EVI5 Activators

EVI5 Activators are a class of compounds that enhance the functional activity of EVI5, a protein involved in the regulation of cell cycle progression and cytokinesis. These activators can be broadly categorized based on their targets, such as adenylate cyclase activators, PKA activators, PKA inhibitors, protein phosphatase inhibitors, PKC activators, PKC inhibitors, and calcium ionophores. Forskolin, 8-Br-cAMP, Epinephrine and dbcAMP are adenylate cyclase or cAMP activators that increase the levels of cAMP, leading to the activation of PKA. PKA is known to phosphorylate EVI5, thereby enhancing its activity.

H-89 dihydrochloride is a PKA inhibitor that can modulate the phosphorylation status of EVI5, potentially enhancing its activity. Okadaic acid and Calyculin A inhibit protein phosphatases, preventing the dephosphorylation of EVI5 and thus maintaining or enhancing its activity. Further, PMA is a potent activator of PKC, which can phosphorylate and activate EVI5. Go 6983 is a selective inhibitor of PKC that can modify the phosphorylation status of EVI5, potentially enhancing its activity. Finally, Ionomycin and Thapsigargin are calcium ionophores. They increase intracellular calcium levels, potentiallyactivating calcium-sensitive kinases that may phosphorylate and activate EVI5.
