DAK Activators predominantly function by the activation of AMP-activated protein kinase (AMPK), a critical regulator of cellular energy homeostasis. AMPK activation can enhance the functional activity of DAK, leading to increased ketogenesis. Metformin, AICAR, Berberine, Phenformin, Resveratrol, Salicylate, Quercetin, Gynostemma pentaphyllum extract, MT 63–78, C13, ZLN024, and Dorsomorphin are all known to activate AMPK, making them effective DAK activators. They operate by stimulating AMPK activity, which in turn enhances the functional activity of DAK.
The individual compounds exert their AMPK-activating effects via different mechanisms, but all ultimately lead to enhanced DAK functional activity. Metformin, Phenformin, and AICAR are well-known direct activators of AMPK, leading to increased DAK activity and ketogenesis. Similarly, Berberine, Resveratrol, Salicylate, Quercetin, and Gynostemma pentaphyllum extract are natural compounds known to activate AMPK. Activation of AMPK by these compounds enhances the functional activity of DAK, leading to increased ketogenesis. MT 63–78, and ZLN024 are synthetic compounds designed to activate AMPK, and their action also results in enhanced DAK activity.
