ANP32C activators are a group of chemicals that indirectly enhance the function of ANP32C by influencing the PP2A and PKC pathways. The first eight compounds listed here are inhibitors of PP2A, a protein that ANP32C is known to inhibit. By further inhibiting PP2A, these compounds could logically enhance the inhibitory action of ANP32C on PP2A. These PP2A inhibitors include cantharidin, fostriecin, calyculin A, microcystin LR, norcantharidin, rubratoxin B, and tautomycin.
The last four compounds-demethylasterriquinone B1, bryostatin 1, phorbol 12-myristate 13-acetate (PMA), and ingenol 3-angelate-are PKC activators. PKC can phosphorylate ANP32C, which could possibly enhance its function. Hence, by activating PKC, these compounds could indirectly lead to increased activity of ANP32C. This group of ANP32C activators therefore comprises compounds that can influence the PP2A and PKC pathways to indirectly enhance the function of ANP32C
