SPARC Antibody (AON-5031) is a mouse monoclonal IgG1 kappa light chain antibody that detects SPARC in mouse, rat, and human samples through western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), immunofluorescence (IF), and immunohistochemistry. Anti-SPARC antibody (AON-5031) is available in a non-conjugated form, allowing for versatile experimental setups. SPARC, or secreted protein acidic and rich in cysteine, is a phosphorylated, acidic, glycine-rich glycoprotein that plays a crucial role in various biological processes, particularly in bone metabolism and tissue remodeling. SPARC is predominantly secreted by endothelial cells and is found in significant quantities in the parietal endoderm of mouse embryos and in the human placenta. SPARC is identical to osteonectin, a highly conserved protein essential for bone calcification, underscoring its importance in skeletal health. SPARC′s structure, characterized by its unique glycoprotein composition, allows interaction with various extracellular matrix components and growth factors, facilitating cellular signaling and influencing cell behavior. This structural versatility is vital for regulating endothelial barrier function, as SPARC induces changes in cell shape and promotes the formation of intercellular gaps, which are critical for the paracellular transport of macromolecules during physiological and pathological processes.
