SNRPA Antibody (B-12) is a mouse monoclonal IgG2b kappa light chain antibody that detects SNRPA protein of mouse, rat, and human origin by western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), immunofluorescence (IF), immunohistochemistry, and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). anti-SNRPA antibody (B-12) is available in both non-conjugated and various conjugated forms, including agarose, horseradish peroxidase (HRP), phycoerythrin (PE), fluorescein isothiocyanate (FITC), and multiple Alexa Fluor® conjugates. SNRPA protein, also known as small nuclear ribonucleoprotein polypeptide A or U1A, plays a crucial role in the RNA spliceosome, a complex essential for the accurate removal of introns from pre-messenger RNA. Located primarily in the nucleus, SNRPA features two RNA recognition motif domains, RRM1 and RRM2, with RRM1 specifically binding to the stem loop II of U1 small nuclear RNA. This interaction is vital for the assembly and function of the U1 small nuclear ribonucleoprotein, which is integral to the splicing process. SNRPA has a self-regulatory mechanism where SNRPA negatively influences the polyadenylation of its own pre-mRNA, leading to degradation by the nuclear exosome. Approximately 16% of cellular SNRPA exists in a non-snRNP form (SF-A), which associates with a distinct set of non-snRNP proteins, highlighting versatile roles in RNA processing and regulation.
