SNRPA Antibody (BJ-7) is a mouse monoclonal IgG1 kappa light chain antibody that detects the SNRPA protein of human origin by western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), immunofluorescence (IF), immunohistochemistry with paraffin-embedded sections (IHCP), and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). anti-SNRPA antibody (BJ-7) is available in a non-conjugated form, specifically designed for versatile applications in research. SNRPA, or small nuclear ribonucleoprotein polypeptide A, plays a crucial role as a component of the RNA spliceosome, a complex essential for the accurate removal of introns from pre-messenger RNA (pre-mRNA). SNRPA is primarily located in the nucleus, where SNRPA contains two RNA recognition motif (RRM) domains, RRM1 and RRM2. RRM1 is particularly significant as RRM1 interacts with the stem loop II of U1 small nuclear RNA, facilitating the assembly of the U1 small nuclear ribonucleoprotein (snRNP) complex. Beyond its structural role, SNRPA also exerts regulatory functions by negatively influencing the polyadenylation of its own pre-mRNA, which prevents the maturation of SNRPA and promotes SNRPA degradation via the nuclear exosome pathway. Notably, approximately 16% of cellular SNRPA exists in an snRNP-free form, known as SF-A, which associates with a distinct set of non-snRNP proteins, highlighting SNRPA′s multifaceted roles in RNA processing and regulation.
