SIRT7 Antibody (C-3) is a mouse monoclonal IgG1 kappa light chain antibody that detects SIRT7 protein of mouse, rat, and human origin by western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), immunofluorescence (IF), and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). SIRT7 (C-3) antibody is available in both non-conjugated and various conjugated forms, including agarose, horseradish peroxidase (HRP), phycoerythrin (PE), fluorescein isothiocyanate (FITC), and multiple Alexa Fluor® conjugates. SIRT7, also known as NAD-dependent deacetylase sirtuin-7 or SIR2L7, is a member of the class IV sirtuin family and is primarily localized in the nucleolus, where SIRT7 plays a crucial role in regulating ribosomal DNA transcription. This localization is significant because SIRT7 interacts with histones associated with rDNA genes, acting as a positive regulator of RNA polymerase I activity. By enhancing Pol I-mediated transcription, SIRT7 contributes to ribosome biogenesis and cellular growth, which is particularly important in the context of cancer, as SIRT7 expression is upregulated in thyroid carcinoma cells. Additionally, SIRT7 undergoes post-translational modifications, including acetylation, which can influence activity and stability, further underscoring SIRT7′s role in cellular regulation and potential implications in tumorigenesis. With diverse applications and critical biological functions, anti-SIRT7 antibody (C-3) is an essential tool for researchers studying the mechanisms of gene expression and the role of sirtuins in health and disease.

I am using the LiCor/Odyssey system. Which secondary antibody do you recommend using with SIRT7 Antibody (C-3): sc-365344?

Asked by: jenni
We recommend using one of our our exclusive Mouse IgG Binding Proteins (m-IgGκ) conjugated to CFL 680 or CFL 790. They are suitable for use with Near-Infrared (NIR) detection systems, such as LI-COR/Odyssey and other comparable systems. A complete list of available binding proteins is available on our website here: https://www.scbt.com/scbt/browse/support-products-mouse-igg-binding-proteins/_/N-ecrety
