SGTA Antibody (G-11) is a mouse monoclonal IgG2b antibody that detects SGTA in mouse, rat, and human samples through various applications including western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), immunofluorescence (IF), immunohistochemistry, and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). SGTA, or small glutamine-rich tetratricopeptide repeat (TPR)-containing protein A, is a crucial protein that plays a significant role in androgen receptor signaling by acting as a co-chaperone within the androgen receptor-chaperone-co-chaperone complex. Anti-SGTA antibody (G-11) binds to the hinge region of the androgen receptor, effectively retaining SGTA in the cytoplasm and thereby inhibiting androgen signaling, which is vital for maintaining hormonal balance. SGTA′s importance extends beyond androgen signaling; SGTA also interacts with heat shock proteins HSP 90 and HSP 70, which are essential for cellular stress responses and apoptosis. Given SGTA′s involvement in these critical processes, SGTA is considered a potential biomarker for conditions such as polycystic ovary syndrome (PCOS), characterized by androgen excess and related metabolic disturbances. Additionally, SGTA has been shown to interact with viral proteins, including the nonstructural Parvovirus protein NS1 and HIV-1 proteins Vpu and Gag, highlighting SGTA′s relevance in both cellular and viral contexts. With broad reactivity and versatile applications, SGTA (G-11) antibody is an invaluable tool for researchers studying androgen signaling, apoptosis, and viral interactions.
