SGTA Antibody (F-7) is a mouse monoclonal IgG2a antibody that detects SGTA in human samples through applications such as western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), immunofluorescence (IF), and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). SGTA, or small glutamine-rich tetratricopeptide repeat (TPR)-containing protein A, is a crucial protein that plays a significant role in the regulation of androgen receptor (AR) signaling. SGTA contains three TPR motifs that facilitate protein-protein interactions, allowing SGTA to function as a co-chaperone within the AR-chaperone-co-chaperone complex. By binding to the hinge region of the AR, SGTA retains the receptor in the cytoplasm, effectively inhibiting its signaling pathway, which is vital for maintaining cellular homeostasis and preventing excessive androgen activity. This regulatory function is particularly important in the context of conditions such as polycystic ovary syndrome (PCOS), where androgen excess can lead to various metabolic and reproductive issues. Additionally, SGTA interacts with several other proteins, including the nonstructural Parvovirus protein NS1 and HIV-1 proteins Vpu and Gag, highlighting SGTA′s potential role in viral pathogenesis and cellular stress responses. Anti-SGTA antibody (F-7) is an essential tool for researchers investigating the intricate mechanisms of androgen signaling and its implications in health and disease.
