    SEE ALSO...

RLF Antibody (D-7) is a mouse monoclonal IgG2b kappa light chain antibody that detects RLF protein of mouse, rat, and human origin by western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), immunofluorescence (IF), immunohistochemistry, and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). RLF (D-7) antibody is available in both non-conjugated and various conjugated forms, including agarose, horseradish peroxidase (HRP), phycoerythrin (PE), fluorescein isothiocyanate (FITC), and multiple Alexa Fluor® conjugates. RLF protein, also known as Ras-associated protein Rab2L or RalGDS-like factor, functions as a guanine nucleotide exchange factor (GEF) for the small GTPase Ral, playing a crucial role in the Ras signaling pathway. By facilitating the exchange of GDP for GTP on Ral, RLF is integral to the activation of downstream signaling cascades that regulate cellular processes such as proliferation and differentiation. RLF interacts with the GTP-bound form of Ras through its C-terminal Ras-binding domain, which is structurally similar to that of RalGDS. This interaction is essential for the phosphorylation of c-Jun at Serines 63 and 73, linking RLF to oncogenic signaling pathways. RLF′s ability to induce Ral activation and c-Fos promoter activity is enhanced when targeted to the plasma membrane, demonstrating RLF′s role in mediating distinct Ras-induced signaling pathways that promote gene induction and cell growth. Overexpression of RLF, particularly in its constitutively active form (RLF-CAAX), has been shown to stimulate neuroretina cell division without affecting ERK activity, highlighting RLF′s potential as a therapeutic target in conditions where Ras signaling is dysregulated.
