POLR1E Antibody (C-11) is a mouse monoclonal IgG2a kappa light chain antibody that detects POLR1E protein of mouse, rat, and human origin by western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), immunofluorescence (IF), and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). POLR1E (C-11) antibody is available in both non-conjugated and various conjugated forms, including agarose, horseradish peroxidase (HRP), phycoerythrin (PE), fluorescein isothiocyanate (FITC), and multiple Alexa Fluor® conjugates. POLR1E protein, also known as polymerase (RNA) I polypeptide E, PAF53, or PRAF1, is a crucial component of the RNA polymerase I complex, which synthesizes ribosomal RNA precursors essential for ribosome biogenesis. This 481 amino acid protein is primarily localized in the nucleolus, where POLR1E plays a vital role in transcribing DNA into RNA, utilizing ribonucleoside triphosphates as substrates. Proper functioning of POLR1E is critical for maintaining cellular homeostasis and supporting protein synthesis, as ribosomal RNA is a fundamental component of ribosomes, the cellular machinery responsible for translating messenger RNA into proteins. The gene encoding POLR1E is located on human chromosome 9, a region associated with various genetic disorders, including hereditary hemorrhagic telangiectasia and familial dysautonomia, highlighting POLR1E′s importance in both normal physiology and disease states.
