Pol II Antibody (F-12) is a mouse monoclonal IgG2b kappa light chain antibody that detects RNA Polymerase II (Pol II) in mouse, rat, and human samples through various applications including western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), immunofluorescence (IF), immunohistochemistry, and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). RNA Polymerase II (Pol II) antibody (F-12) is available in both non-conjugated and multiple conjugated forms, such as agarose, horseradish peroxidase (HRP), phycoerythrin (PE), fluorescein isothiocyanate (FITC), and various Alexa Fluor® conjugates. RNA Polymerase II plays a crucial role in transcribing protein-coding genes, and RNA Polymerase II′s function is vital for gene expression regulation. RNA Polymerase II is composed of twelve subunits, with RPB1 (also known as RPB205) being a 1,840 amino acid protein featuring a C2H2-type zinc finger and a C-terminal domain rich in heptapeptide repeats. RPB1 is essential for RNA Polymerase II′s catalytic activity and forms the active center responsible for synthesizing messenger RNA. RPB1 also contributes to RNA Polymerase II′s DNA-binding domain, creating a groove necessary for accurate DNA template transcription. RPB1 dysfunction can severely impair mRNA synthesis and hinder transcription elongation, underscoring RNA Polymerase II′s importance in cellular function and gene regulation.
