    SEE ALSO...

NHE-8 Antibody (7A11) is a mouse monoclonal IgG1 kappa light chain antibody that detects NHE-8 protein of mouse, rat, and human origin by western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), immunofluorescence (IF), and immunohistochemistry with paraffin-embedded sections (IHCP). NHE-8 (7A11) antibody is available in both non-conjugated and various conjugated forms, including agarose, horseradish peroxidase (HRP), phycoerythrin (PE), fluorescein isothiocyanate (FITC), and multiple Alexa Fluor® conjugates. NHE-8 protein, consisting of 575 amino acids, is primarily localized apically in intestinal epithelial cells, where NHE-8 plays a crucial role in regulating sodium ion absorption. This localization allows NHE-8 to effectively mediate the exchange of sodium (Na+) and hydrogen (H+) ions, which is essential for maintaining electrolyte balance and pH homeostasis in the intestinal environment. NHE-8 expression is higher in young mammals compared to adults, indicating a vital role during early development when efficient nutrient absorption is critical. NHE-8 gene and protein expression remains tightly regulated throughout ontogeny, suggesting particular importance for intestinal function in early stages of mammalian life.
