NCAM-L1 Antibody (74-5H7) is a mouse monoclonal IgG1 antibody that detects NCAM-L1 in mouse, rat, human, equine, and avian species through applications such as western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). NCAM-L1, also known as CD171, is a crucial cell adhesion molecule that plays a significant role in axon guidance and cell migration within the nervous system. NCAM-L1 expression is particularly important during embryonic development and in various human tumors, including neuroblastomas and rhabdomyosarcomas, where NCAM-L1 may facilitate tumor progression by enhancing cell adhesion and migration. The structure of NCAM-L1 is characterized by immunoglobulin-like domains, which are essential for mediating interactions between cells. These interactions are vital for maintaining the integrity of neural networks and ensuring proper neuronal function. NCAM-L1′s ability to engage in homophilic binding allows for the stabilization of cell-cell contacts, which is critical for the development of the nervous system and the response to injury. Using anti-NCAM-L1 antibody (74-5H7) in research can provide valuable insights into the mechanisms of cell adhesion and migration, as well as their implications in tumor biology and neurodevelopmental processes.
